The Ambassador of Algeria to Azerbaijan participated in the panel discussion on “Agenda 2063 and Africa’s Role in the Evolving System of International Relations” during the event dedicated to Africa Day 2026

The Ambassador of Algeria to Azerbaijan, H.E. Mrs. Zakia Ighil, participated in the panel discussion on “Agenda 2063 and Africa’s Role in the Evolving System of International Relations” during the event dedicated to Africa Day 2026, entitled “Rising Continent, Emerging Partnerships,” organized in Baku by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During her intervention, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of regional integration, peace and stability, youth empowerment, digital transformation, balanced international partnerships, and stronger African representation in global governance. She also highlighted Algeria’s continued commitment, under the wise leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to supporting African integration, solidarity, and sustainable development through major continental initiatives.

In this regard, she referred notably to the Trans-Saharan Road, the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline, the Trans-Saharan Fiber Optic Backbone, as well as Algeria’s efforts to promote intra-African trade, connectivity, training, innovation, and capacity-building across the continent. She further highlighted Algeria’s hosting of major African economic events, including the Global Africa Tech 2026 Summit and the Intra-African Trade Fair, reflecting the country’s longstanding commitment to advancing African cooperation and Agenda 2063 objectives.
